Guests making fresh ramen noodles together during a newcomer-friendly ramen cooking social night in San Francisco.

New to SF? Come for the Ramen. Leave with New Friends.

San Francisco is an amazing city… but let’s be real — making friends in SF can feel weirdly hard, especially when you’re new.

Bars are loud. Networking events are awkward. Dating apps are exhausting.

So we created something different:

A newcomer-friendly ramen cooking social night in San Francisco, designed for people who want real connection — without forcing small talk.

You’ll cook, laugh, and share a meal with other people who are also new to the city and looking to meet new friends in the Bay Area.

Most guests come solo. That’s the point.

frequently asked questions

Can I come alone?

Yes — absolutely. In fact, most guests come solo, because this event is designed specifically for newcomers looking to meet new people in a relaxed way.

What’s the vibe like? Is it awkward?

Not at all. This isn’t a networking mixer or a loud bar scene.
You’ll be cooking in small groups, sharing ramen, and chatting naturally as you go — the noodles do the ice-breaking for you.

Do I need cooking experience?

None at all. This is beginner-friendly, fun, and guided by our team.

What’s included in the $80 ticket?

Your ticket includes:

  • The full ramen-making social experience
  • Dinner during the event
  • A welcoming group setting designed for meeting new people

To reserve your seat:

  • $15 deposit today
  • $65 remaining balance collected about 7–10 days before the event

What if I can’t make it after reserving?

Your $15 deposit is always creditable toward any future public ramen class with The Story of Ramen. (No stress — plans change.)

Do you offer vegetarian or vegan ramen?

Yes. Our classic ramen includes pork broth, but we offer vegetarian and vegan-friendly options upon request. Just let us know when you sign up.

How many people will be there?

We keep it intentionally small (usually 12–18 guests) so it feels welcoming and everyone has a chance to connect.

What happens if the gift card value isn't enough for the class?

If the gift card value doesn't cover the full cost of the desired cooking class, the recipient can easily pay the remaining balance at the time of booking on our website.

Are gift cards refundable or transferable?

Our gift cards are non-refundable, but they are fully transferable. They never expire and can be redeemed for any available class on our calendar.
